A cohort of seven undergraduate biology and neuroscience majors in the Columbian College of 艺术 and Sciences spent the summer in the lab and the field as part of the donor-funded 威尔伯V. Harlan 本科 研究 Fellowship.
For 14 weeks the students immersed themselves in hands-on research, collaborating closely with esteemed faculty mentors and graduate assistants on scientific projects they had designed themselves.
In addition to their research work, the students actively participated in workshops and seminars covering various subjects ranging from professional development to advanced scientific techniques.
“I learned a great deal about working as a field biologist, both independently and as part of a team,” said senior Maggie Connolly. “The Harlan Fellowship provided me with opportunities and experiences that are hard to find anywhere else.”
